has anyone used those awnbrella awning supoorts. the bows that arch your awning? I am thinking of getting some of them but is it really worth the money? is there a way to make my own? any response would be appreciated.

Hi, I had a set, it did'nt take long to figure out that every time you had to take the awning down because of the wind or whatever they had to come down too. You will also have to apply some velcrow to the arms and canvase as they will move left to right and fall out. They will also stretch the canvase over time, especially during hot spells. Other than that they're great!

Maybe 1/2" light-wall stuff, so it's flexible. Might put a tee on each end rather than just a cap.

I read on the Titanium Forum that some guys wintering down in the Rio Grande Valley made some out of 3/4" PVC water pipe and fittings (put a coupling with no glue in the middle so they could break them down for storage) to wedge in place between the roller and the wall.

I didn't read the thread too carefully since I don't intend to do it, but the idea seems workable and the materials are cheap enough that you could experiment some without a lot of investment.

PVC pipe is one of those under rated inventions around an RV.
