I think the 33' TT's are too long. I would go shorter and as light as possible with the durango. I had a 2000 durango and never put it near its max tow capacity and still destroyed the engne hauling a 2 horse trailer. I now have an armada and haul a 30' TT and that is almost too long for my truck.

I don't have experience with the Durango, I have always been a Ford man. However, I can comment on the Passport. The 300BH in my signature is the second Passport we have owned. Really have enjoyed both. Our first one was a 2007 200QS. I don't think they made past 2008 (if that long). We went small for our first camper because we wanted to make sure we would use one before making the investment in a bigger one. Sure enough we loved it and decided to upgrade to a bigger camper. In our search we looked very closely at the 280BH. We really liked the open floor plan of the trailer. The wife has always liked that the floors are completely covered in linoleum. It is always amazing how much dirt she sweeps out with the broom after each trip. I know that the linoleum is considered low end, but I can't imagine what carpet would look like by now after only one season of pretty heavy use. The other Passport standard I enjoy is the slide out cook top. While it is not the full outdoor kitchen that appear to be gaining popularity it is very handy. The two detractors that drove us to pass over the 280BH were
1) The lower rear bunk. Specifically the way the base of the lower bunck extends unsupported into the kitchen area. The wife and I both felt like we would be one miss placed knee away from snapping the plywood off. The alternative would be to engineer some kind of folding support leg. We felt this was a flaw/argument waiting to happen.
2) The bathroom layout. The Passports seem to only have 2 bathroom layouts. The 2007 200QS we had previously had the same layout and it was very tight for a larger man like myself to use in a seated position (if you know what I mean). The other layout like what we have in the 300BH is much more big man friendly.
However, that being said the Passport 280BH was the run up for Best in Show Travel Trailer at the St. Louis Regional RV show this January. As always the right trailer for one person could be a nightmare for someone else, but I am obviously partial to the Passports.

By spreading the axles an additional 10" The extra wide stance equalizes weight & provides superior towability.
