This was supposed to be a "positive" "informative" post! It's a shame we can't all get along. I guess I'll have to go to the Dodge site and stir up trouble. Just kidding!

Happy Camping Everyone!

Sorry ,but what is the differance between 'powertrain' and 'engine' are they not interchangable?

My interpretation is Powertrain includes engine, transmission, transfer case (if 4x4), and axles. Engine is just that.

Man, you just can't get anything right. Call your much loved Dodge dealer and ask if your transfer case and axles are part of the "powertrain warranty".

Although the bickering and back biting is welcome here, it is not providing any value other than entertainment. I am concerned about the continual veiled slur against the special needs kids. The poster knows the side story and is using his slur to foist an impression of mental retardation upon certain members here. This is despicable behavior. Having a special needs niece, I know the pain such innuendo brings to the families. This needs to stop.

To those that can contribute valuable information, good or bad, continue to post your facts here. The exhaust brake discussion is a good example. The information will be appreciated by both the current owners striving to learn more about their trucks and potential purchasers.

Hey little ricky,
I was answering to this post. Sorry I was on your private thread and I made a mistake. You being a Ford guy should know a ton about mistakes.

You do realize how small this makes you look, right?

Engine means engine only. Powertrain includes components separate from engine, such as the transmission. There are other parts as well that fall under "powertrain", but not under "engine".

Thanks for setting the record straight on engine versus powertrain Yahooligan. I wasn't sure exactly what powertrain entailed either. It would appear, there were a few of us unclear about that tidbit. Thanks again!
