Ditto on the Ranchos. Got them in... March or April this year. The difference was amazing.
I don't think that you can go wrong with a shock upgrade.

Because the weight on the front axle with my old setup only changed by a few hundred pounds with my camper laoded. I had a gasser, so there wasn't that much weight on it. I adjusted it a bunch to begin with to dial in what I thought was the best ride, and from there the front didn't need to change. If I had ever put on the winch I had always thought about, I probably would have. Buying a non-adjustable shock, you might get the perfect settings with just the right shock, but you'd never know if a little more or a little less would be better or not.
In my case, I tried lower settings on my front Rancho RS9000XL's when unloaded in the rear, but I had better handling with the maximum setting of 9 even in that condition. I again feel this is due to the static & dynamic weight of the CTD over my front axle coupled with my heavy aftermarket front bumper and winch combination. Beyond that, it would seem a bit odd to me to purposely get one set of shocks for the front and another (different) set of shocks for the rear. And like Brian indicated, if you did go that route, you would never know whether the non-adjustable front shocks you chose to go with were too stiff, too weak, or just right.
