I'm curious how local RV repair shop labor rates compare with others around the country. It would help if posters identify if the rate is for a small independent shop, a large independent, a chain (like CW), or a dealership.

I'll start off with my latest finding. A large (65 bay) local independent repair facility, newly becoming a dealer, is at $100 per hour but is soon going to $110. I know our local small shop is less, but I need to check his current rate.

What are service labor rates in your area?

In my area an RV repair shop is $119. an hour. A truck garage, to do the same work, $90. an hour.

I am currently in upper MI where an RV shop rate was $100 an hour and a truck shop, that did EXCELLENT work replacing a U joint was $60. an hour.

Average in MI is around $100-$120 an hour for most any vehicle maintenance by a shop or garage. Some of the smaller ones will give you a break in most cases on a large labor job.

Labor rates in the SC and Ga. area is $110 - $120 an hour. I have an independent RV service center and there labor is $100 an hour trying to take some business away from the other service centers.

Don't forget they also charge full list on parts! That can add heavily to the per hour rate.
