No matter what the case, I'll take our lousy legal system over Sharia law.

Deserves worse then prison, the child relies on the protection of the parent.

Of course in our society today all he has to do is get a good "protest" going to get him out; rediculous..

You can't cure stupid. The only thing that could be done now is to loose the key to his cell. (with him inside)

You know I read about this and the first thing that occurred to me was that I have had my kids in the rhino and driven it around after I have had a few- This was a very good lesson for me to stop being so foolish and cavalier. I would never drink and then get on the two wheeler. I also never drink and boat- with or without the kids on board. For some reason I had no problem drinking and driving the rhino- I was stupid and lucky. Lesson learned!

This guy was a walking train-wreck. Look at his past actions. And exactly how does one put a vehicle in over 9 feet of water? I've done water crossings before, and stopped after burying a wheel or the front end. What a jerk.

I wonder how long it will be before some bottom-feeder lawyer sues the water district or the county for not having that area fenced off and covered with warning signs telling people to stay out of the water.

My guess is this is where we will hear from the mother (or grandparents) of the child. Sue the city/county/water district but not lay blame on the father for his actions. :-(

Very sad. After looking at The Daily Press, I feel sorry for several families.

That area is well known as an atv/truck/jeep and party spot. They have "closed" it many times, but you can only close a desert so much, ya know? I have been there more times than I can count, and there is always some drunk or drugged people there (not me drunk or drugged).

A strange thought just came to me, after my RIP thoughts..... With a dad like that, the poor kid never had much of a chance anyway.

34.416016,-117.233248 is the lat/long of the accident, the main area is just south of there along the river.
