Hi,
I've read on rvnet that Norcold fridges will not tolerate voltages higher that 15.4. Is the same thing true for Dometic?
What about the other control boards in an RV?
Has anyone measured the voltage drop to the fridge control board?
My Blue Sky charge controller can equalize--at 15.5 volts, but I don't wish to burn out any of the control boards in my RV.

Fuses do not protect against high voltage.
You should not have any voltages that would come close to the 15.5 volt level unless there is some type of malfuntion.

My solar goes that high when equalizing and in 5 years it has not hurt anything but I have a Norcold. Bud, 15+ volts is normal for equalizing your batteries.
This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

When I equalized (wet cell batteries-- have since switched to AGM's) I ALWAYS disconnected all house circuits just so I would not experiment with the effects of high voltage on the many systems with PC boards.

Whenever you Equalize, you are supposed to disconnect appliance's, they can be harmed by the higher dc voltage. Better to be safe than sorry. Doug

Doug, what do you mean by disconnecting appliances? Can you just turn off your 12 V diconnect button?

I agree.... use the battery disconnect as part of equalizing.

Doug Doug, I started another thread on the TC forum but Reddog the moderator is moving the thread to this forum. I hhave a solar cell, flooded battery and a charge wizard and don't know how to equalize a battery. I just plugged into 30A then put the battery on line with the battery disconnect switch and thought that was all I ever had to do. Do I need to go out and buy some other equipment?

Does your solar controller have an equalize function?
