We are shopping for a 35 to 40 foot fifth wheel and seem to get more confused each time we go looking, We like the looks of the Open Range Rolling Thunder models but I have read some not to great things. The Raptor also offers floor plans that suit us but I am worried owning a Keystone product. I would like to see a Jayco Recon in person but can't find a Jayco dealer that stocks them in driving distance. They also carry the Raptors and have tried to push us in that direction. We will be looking at Cyclones this weekend. We will be traveling with pets and 2 very young children and spending log periods of time in this trailer and have decided a toy hauler would suit our needs most. Any comments or suggestions on any of the lines would be helpful.

I've a Cyclone and love it. I did get the chance to see a Jayco at Sturgis and if I could sell my Cyclone I would buy one of those without pause. It was a very nice rig! I love my Cyclone, but, the Jayco had it beat hands down.

Regardless of which model you look at there will be a contingent of people on here who will provide negative info about it. There will also be a similar number who will sing high praise about it. It comes down to A) Do you like the floorplan and does it suit your needs, do your wife and kids like it, B) Are you working with a dealer who you think will provide good service (get references!!!!) C) Don't settle! If a Jayco is a consideration, find one, drive or fly to see it. You are investing a lot of money and plan to spend a lot of time in this. Make absolutely sure it is what you want!

Lastly, on the delivery walk through, plan to spend hours (yes, hours). Test EVERYTHING, open everything, work everything, walk on the roof, inspect fittings, look under, in, over, around everything. Document anything you find and insure you get it fixed then.

Then enjoy it!

As of now, Keystone has taken care of my wishes in every way they can. The Fusion is the best built unit that I have looked at, and I have looked at most. The Raptor is nice too, but cannot find a trim level comparible to the TEII Fuzion.

Thank you. I have found some jaycos and I plan to definitely see one in person. Hopefully a little closer than a 12 hour drive would be great. Will keep looking.

What he/she said. We're actually dealing on a Recon 40D as I'm typing this, if everything works to our favor, I'll probably be at the dealer for two (2) days doing the PDI cause I'm gonna be pretty darn anal this time.
