I saw at the local Rv dealer that they have a shower curtain rod that extensions out ward of the shower box. this gives you more shoulder room when showering. Does any one have this and how do you like it. Any problems with it. Does the shower curtain stay closed enough so you don't get a lot of water on the floor. Any comments or do not buy answers are appreciated. thanks

Lowe's or Home Depot or Sam's sells these. they have been installed at a couple of motels I stayed at. they do what they are supposed to do. sealing at the end would depend on length of current curtain, as the rod obviously is longer.

There are two types, the ones from home improvement stores or the ones from camping supply stores. The ones from home improvement are fixed and non moveable (usually chrome) and the ones from camping supply have two pivot points so they can fold back into the shower for more bathroom room. We have both, fixed in the house and pivot type in the trailer. Both work great and would recommend.

We replaced our accordian style shower closure with the Extend a Rod in our TT, and it's so much better. There is SO MUCH MORE space in the shower, and there's no leakage around either end. When we're finished showering we just fold it back. Since the rod is over the tub when folded back, you can hang wet things on hangers or the rod to drip dry. I bought a regular shower curtain, not an RV one, and had to shorten it a bit for our shower.

Get the one that is three piece and folds rather than the one piece home style. Best mod I did on a previous fiver, expands the elbow room in the shower substantially, folds out of the way and with a long enough shower curtain no problem with water on the floor.
