Thanks lincster, was hoping to maybe find a different cause than the bad fuel. Would be easier to deal with!

Does anyone have a set of new gears they can measure? I'm going to take mine to work tomorrow and sand mine back to stock.

Thanks!

same thing happened with my fuel station. removed the 4 bolts, pulled out the 2 impeller gears, used my dial calipers and removed 1/32 from each side with some wet and dry 400 grit paper, reinstalled the gears and it works perfect. i heard they continue to swell, so i'll check them a day or two before i go out.

1/32??? That's alot. My fuse is popping too. I'm going to check my pump today.

1/16" is a lot. there were score marks on the cover, so it was jammed tight. when i did the test, plenty of fuel came out the nozzle. i heard the gears can continue to swell, so i'm hoping i won't have to do this again.

Happened to me this weekend. Pump worked fine the day before, but I have popped a couple fuses in the past. Got to the riding area. Ready to go. Just have to gas up. Spent the next 3 hours sanding gears. haha Thought I was prepared. Gonna order a pump rebuild kit soon. Pain in the butt I'll tell you. Someone should have put a centrifugal pump in this application. Had a great weekend after that though!!!

Mine finally went after 6 years. New gears are 20 bucks and take less than a half hour to change. I've always drained off the nozzle after shutting the pump off.

Can someone post detailed instructions on how to repair and a source for parts?

Thanks!

You really don't need detailed instructions, it's pretty simple. You will see what needs to be done as you start taking it apart. The hardest part is getting the new gasket into the slot. You will think they gave you the wrong one but it will fit. A dealer that sells toyhaulers will have the kit at about $40.00.. You won't be able to tell the new parts from the old ones... Good luck..

Awesome! Pump works again. No need for new parts. Just sand (or mill like I did) enough off the gears so they're just under the flat surface where the cover bolts on. I took off about .005/side, about the thickness of two hairs. The O ring/seal stayed in place. Replace fuse. SWEET!

I spent more than 30 minutes (with two sets of hands) trying to get the o-ring abck in the groove. I finally got mad, and spliced it. Worked perfectly.
