My air filter as I'm sure others have has a foam backing on it that is oily.I changed the filter and washed the foam. What can I spray onto the foam again to help filter the air ? Sorry,it is an engine air filter.
Thanks

K&N makes a kit that is used to clean and oil their filters. Not exactly sure what kind you have, but it may work for you.

If you also have a paper air filter, I don't think you need oil on the foam at all. But if you choose to oil it, do it very sparingly. If you use too much, the excess can be pulled into the intake and it will foul up the air sensor (MAS) which will result in poor engine operation.

any motorcycle shop that sells dirtbikes or atv's, sell filter oil. You can get it in a can and dip the foam and then wring it out or you can get it in a spray can and just spray it on. You can also use 30 wt. oil for cars in a pinch, but the filter oil is a lot stickier.
wringing the foam out after dipping it provides the best coverage and reduces the chances of sucking some into the intake. smart wringers wear latex gloves when wringing.
