We bought a 10 year old RV that has no TV. Any suggestions on where to buy a new flat screen HD? Our rig has an analog crank up antenna and a antenna outlet with a cigarette lighter plug next to it. Also a 120 plug in on the same fixture. I know I will also need a converter to add to the antenna for digital signals. Are TV's with both 12 and 120 plugs readily available? Which power source is better??

Most flat scree LCD TV's have an ATSC tuner. With the tuner you will not need the converter. It will tune into digital sigals your crank up antenna will work just fine with. You will have a much wider selection of 120v TV's.

Our built-in flatscreen went out last year. It's almost impossible to get it out of the cabinet--just above the driver's and passenger's seat--that you have to tear it out and rebuild a cabinet. I did like some others have done: Bought a 17" LCD flatscreen. I put it on my dashboard when camped, attach it to my RV antenna, and I get about 10 HD channels. In the bedroom TV, I had the receiver box installed and get HD channels there. We just put the new TV on the bed when traveling.

Wrong? You have a analog or digital antenna. Works either way.
Just go out to a Best Buy pick up a digital set of your liking, plug it in, scan, and enjoy!

TiogaChevy,
Outside of the world of advertising hype, there is no such think as an HD/Digital antenna. Antennas couldn't care less if the signal contained HD, digital, analog or whatever; they only care about the frequency of the signal. The Winegard's "batwing" antenna is a good antenna for receiving over-the-air broadcasts. Winegard's Wingman can improve the reception, but makes the antennal more directional.

You won't need a convertor with a new TV.

I prefer to buy TVs at COSTCO. They give you 90-day return privileges no questions asked, and extend the manufacturers warrantee to two years. Prices aren't bad either.

Be sure whatever TV you buy has sufficient volume.
I tried two different Samsung TVs and the volume level was very poor. There was no increase in the volume level on anything past 60.

O.K. Terminology error here. I understand that with a new flat screen I won't need a HD converter like I got for a couple of old 19 inch tv's in the garage and basement. But I thought I would need a HD or Digital addition to my antenna to recieve the over the air broadcasts. My roof top is a 10 year old Winegard, but I have no idea what the model it is. If I don't need to add the advertised "wing" that is great.
I can not find in the literature if the "cigarette lighter" outlet located in the coach is powered by the coach battery or the chassis battery. I suspect the coach battery due to its location, but as I have found out nothing is as simple as it seems when it comes to how this critter is wired.
We do have a fold down shelf in the bedroom for a small TV. We can put one in the front of the coach in the overhang on the passenger side. Both would have to be "put away" when we break camp. Not a big problem as far as we are concerned.
