When do people stop camping. I realize there is no correct answer but more of a theoretical point of view. Medical, economical as well as physical reasons all come into play but when do you think you are going to stop camping?

I am hoping we have another 10 years of camping and enjoying life. Any thing over that will be a bonus. 71 and 72 now. No medical problems for either of us

Technically I do not intend to ever stop camping.
The definition of camping has changed over the past 100 years, from the old camping out under the stars with just a saddle bag under your head and the saddle blanket covering you under the stars. Then to the leisure camping experience in a canvas tent and sleeping bag. And next the move to converted automobiles with familys being driven to our newly formed National parks, evolving into the disconnected from nature Travel Trailers and Motorhomes in Metal and Fiberglass boxes!
If camping now is defined as sleeping inside of a box under a tree, then after I die won't we all still be camping?
After all....we'll be outside, sleeping in a box under a tree.

so far You could be going for a lot longer than 10 years. I met a couple on my last trip. She was 81 and he was 84. They had a 29' 5er, and the old guy backed it into the spot like a champ. He got out and moved slowly, but set up his rig pretty quickly.
In talking with them, they said they have slowed down over the years. They only RV for about 6 months out of the year, instead of their usual 8-10 months. Apparently, a lot of their friends from back home are dying off and they end up going to a lot of funerals.
The wife said that they tend to stay in one place longer than they used to. They also do more traveling with the intention of visiting their kids and grandkids.
I can see them being RVers for a long time to come.

I love seeing the "old" couples late in age still camping. Me and my DW always say " Thats us in 20 years". I recall seeing a couple probably in their 70's in an old scamp still in very good shape and older car enjoying camping as if they had done it all their lives. I hope thats us, we should be so lucky.

Isn't spending eternity in the ground, under a nice layer of grass, sorta "Camping"??
I guess the real answer would also be that I'd like to do it, until I can't anymore....either physically, or I just don't enjoy it. Part of the problem will be that DW has health problems that are already effecting us, so not sure about the future.
