My current set up on my front legs are the pins with clips to keep them in place. You have to un clip and remove the entire pin to raise or lower the leg. I have some health issues that make getting down and undoing the pins difficult at times. My RV Service tech recommended replacing the pins with snaps. These are the kind that you just pull the handle and raise and lower the leg.
I got a set and will try to put them on this weekend. What I want to know is are there any warnings or advise you can share in using these snaps? They do not look to difficult to install but due to surgery on my hands my future son in law will be doing the work with me watching over him. Any tricks I should know about in installing these?
For those that are using these how happy have you been?
Thanks!

No info on install but when using them be sure they clip back in all the way and aren't crooked. Sometimes when pulling on the pins they come out at an angle and then won't go back in on their own, rare but it has happened to me. I just double check them before lifting the 5er and give'em a kick when collapsed for travel to be sure they are locked in.
Good luck,

They are easy to install. Be sure that you follow the instruction. You can over tighten the bolts and they will not work as designed. It should make your set up a little easier.

Dito on the over tighting of the bolts. Make sure that they are tight but not tight enough to bend anything. When using, make sure that they "smap" back in place and go all the way through. Dirt on the landing gear can cause them not to extend completly through both holes. They may get caught and not pass through the last hole on the landing gear. They work good and a little "dry lube" helps. Don't use oil on them; it collects dirt and can cause binding.

When I installed mine I replaced the original 3/8" bolts holding the foot on with 3/8" eye bolts. The ring allows an easy method of lifting the base with a finger or a hook end on a tarp strap.

You shouldn't have any problems with the install.

Which type of snap pins do you have. There are two different designs and materials. The old style you bolt in place. The new design looks to be a synthec material and snaps in place with out the bolts. I have the older design and have had no problems thus far.

Thanks for all of the feedback!
The SNAPS I purchased are made by Snaps MFG Inc. and are the bolt on type. My RV Tech measured my landing legs to make sure I got the right size for my rig.
Marly ... Thanks for the info on the eyebolt. I will definitely add this to the install as it will make raising the legs much easier.
Thanks again for all the information!
