If the alignment was good before and the work is done by a competant person there is no reason to need an alignment after. The springs are positioned by the front and rear anchors (they don't move) and the axle is held by the center bolt fitting the hole in the spring perch on the axle. If you are told you will need an alignment after, question how they intend to do the job.Two people in a shop with a good impact wrench should be finished within an hour. If the u-bolts are rusted it will be cheaper and faster to use a cutting disk in a grinder and install new ones. The above time does not take into account of haveing shocks installed. Driveway times multiply by three and/or the number of beers.

I did my own on my 1st 2 5th wheels. I just had my last one done on Tuesday. It cost me $400. It raised my camper 7" at the back and with lowering the pinbox I gained 2 1/2" bed clearance. When I did my own it cost about $40 in parts. So if you average it out, my 3 campers cost about $480 total or an average of $160 each

Thanks everyone, I guess somewhere in the $200 range is the average, for some reason I thought it would be more expensive. My RV dealer is also the mechanic (very small mom and pop operation), has done a ton of flips and is very competent. Doesn't sell RV's just deals in parts and service.

My last rig we had it done(new RV) but my mechanic must have been good cause it didn't need a axle alignment. Put over 10k miles on it with ST tires even. There is a high likelihood of it happening though if the tech doesn't have much experience. $200 is a great price for parts and labor. You will need new steps as the 1st one will be a doozie. You might also keep the fresh water tank full in high winds.
