Hello, I am new to the Woodall's forum and I'm looking for some advice. Does anyone know of some tent camp sites (no RV's)in northern Arizona, north of I-40? I know that most of this area is Indian reservation and I've never been out there before. I am a seasoned desert camper, usually I go out to southern Nevada somewhere off the E.T HWY, or in the Death Valley area. Even if there are no designated camping areas, just looking for a place to camp legally. Thanks

Sorry, not familiar with that area. I'd check the BLM website. You might also search the boondocking forum.

Maybe this will help with the area around Flagstaff. Camping

Monument Valley from Grand Canyon (208 miles from Williams to Mon't Valley). Also Canyon de Chelly by Chinle is great with a free campground and showers. Been there want to go again. Nat'l Park

Navajo National Monument is located at the end of State Highway 564 off of US Highway 160. We have not been to this one, but sounds very interesting. Two campgrounds, one open all year, somewhat isolated but no fees are charged. NPS Site - Visit
Navajo

Navajo NMon is on the way to Mon't Valley, about 170 miles form Williams. Maybe 50 miles or so to Mon Valley.

Also in the area is Antelope Canyon - LAKE POWELL NAVAJO TRIBAL PARK near Page, AZ, never been to it but have seen many photos of the area, very neat.
