Then 81 south to I77 to I26 would be my first choice. better scenery, less traffic and less stress.Yes,it is longer. For me near Reading,Pa it takes about an hour longer but well worth it.
I disagree with your disagreement. Better scenery? At night? Where? Less traffic? After 11PM it's a toss but there ain't much on either. Less stress? I can't see how at that time.
If this was between 95 and 81 on a Monday at 0800 I'd agree with you on all counts. I leave MA by 0600 on a Saturday or a Sunday and have no problems with 95 to FL. When I drove OTR in a big truck I didn't have a choice and 95 could be a drag but nothing that a little patience couldn't handle.

I agree with avoiding I-95. I avoid it like the plague. I like driving I-81 better. If nothing else it is peace of mind for me.

At 11pm you should be golden. 95 south, 695 west in Baltimore (no propane in the Ft McHenry tunnell), take the loop around Richmond. If you do a search in the routes section, you'll find shortcuts to get you from 95 over to Longs.
