What is an electric tongue jack? If it makes like easier for my husband, then I am all for it. How much does it cost? If it is a nice mod for our coachmen Catalina TT, then maybe that would be a nice gift for the DH for Christmas. How is it installed? Are there any particular models or brands that you prefer?

When hitching or unhitching, you need to crank on a handle on the tongue of the trailer to raise the trailer coupler up off the ball. It is NOTT easy. With an electric tongue jack you just push a switch. Number one option/modification on any pull type TT.

IMHO get a 3500# or so model. Installed with just two or three or four bolts and one wire, easy job if done while TT hooked to TV.

Sure like my 3500# Atwood.

I have had good service from my UltraFab 3500. DH will love you more if you get him an electric tongue jack, I promise.

Electric tongue jack - perhaps one of the best mods we put on our TT. My wife does the hitching and unhitching - she used to turn bright red in the face in hot weather or down south.....it's over six years and she still thanks me!!

I recommend a 3500 Atwood or several others except the Ultra Fab which lasted less than 2 years before shearing the pins. Elect jack would make a great Christmas present and very easy to install

We have the Barker. Bought it based upon recommendations from this forum. Can't imagine hitching and unhitching manually.

Watch out. It just might be the number one item you can add to the TT. It may be so much fun that you'll be doing the hooking and unhooking in which case it'll be a nice gift to yourself. Go for it and wish him a Mery Christmas. By the way Mrs. Santa I'm hoping for a new bike. PS: do go for the 3500lb capacity of any brand.

Since DW can't back up to position the TV, I had to do that AND hook up. The E-Jack made it easy for DW to do the hook up. In fact, now she won't let me do it anymore. She tells me to keep my butt in the truck. Best investment you'll make. (With the possible exception of DW)

Here is a link to the one we have and below is a picture of it installed. It allows the raising and lowering of the tongue with the flick of a switch. Worth every penny!
