The biggest issue with this idea is who pays for it Canadians ot Americans?

Canadians, because of the mistrust of the rhetoric of the Canadian Government and the lost tax dollars of the tourists. Think about it. The subjects of Canada are no more blind to freedom than the voters in the States that elected Osama.. Tourist dollars are the oil that greases recovery. They are dollars that aren't needed for survival thus are "growth" dollars.. We need growth not maintenance..Canada is suppressing growth for it's Country with it's Gestapo attitude of restricting personal safety of it's tax producing visitors. Totally, In My Opinion....

I.m not sure I understand this. Americans want to be able to carry guns in Canada but don't allow Canadians to carry guns into the US??. Not sure I follow. Double standard.

Not sure why Americans think that guns are in some way illegal in Canada. Many of our American friends also seem to think this. We politely inform them otherwise but they still seem skeptical. Kinda weird.

When we went to Alaska last year, had absolutely no problem bringing our legal barrel length 12 gauge shotgun, slug loads shells, and 00 buckshot across the border. Stopped at the Coutts/Sweetgrass station declared the gun, went inside to present paperwork, pay the registration fee and have a security screening and away we went.

No fuss, no muss, very polite and professional.

It is their country, so if handguns aren't allowed I am not going to be a rude guest and ignore their laws or get my undies in a wad about it and moan like a little baby.

I've been living in La La Land all of my life and the last time I checked, I was still alive even though I don't own a handgun and feel the need to carry it everywhere I go. And, I'm not an anti-gun fanatic. I was raised with guns in the house and learned how to properly use them at an early age. For the life of me, I cannot understand why some folks feel that they need to look down on/insult people that don't feel that they always need to be armed to the teeth everywhere they go. Furthermore, I don't recall ever hearing my government tell me that there are no bad guys here in Canada. I'm not sure which news source you've been using. CBC maybe? CNN? As for being defenseless, well, that's a matter of opinion. I sure don't feel defenseless.

I'm sorry that you are having trouble figuring out how to get to Alaska without your precious guns. You are missing out on a truly beautiful part of the world. Have you tried flying?

Thanks to everyone that follows our laws when they come to visit. I always do the same when I visit other places.

This is the kind of response I find refreshing. This shows respect for our country, it's laws and it's citizens. Thank-you.

We visit the US very frequently and always abide by their laws when vacationing. Surely it should work the other way too.

Talk about misguided. You own a gun then you vote for someone who wants to take away your right to own a gun, then you would happily visit a country where they will not allow you to have a gun. Time to get rid of the gun. I can see no reason for you to own it.
