That little COSCO 13' World's Greatest Ladder at Walmart.com looks ideal. It's tall enough to get onto the roof and folds up to only 43 inches and is only $74.00

I use a heavy duty 4ft ladder that fits in my bin sideways. I've been thinking about bringing a 6ft as well since it will fit in the same basement bin.

I got the little Giant because of its 300lb rating. I can get it into a bin if it is open to the next compartment. A little heavy but doable.

Why take a ladder? What am I missing? I have telescopic handles for brushes. Most things can be reached from the roof if needed.

I carry a collapsable 7' ladder in our campers storage compartment. It folds up to about 4" square X 7'. Got it at Camping World several years ago.

I have the same ladder and I love it. I can get by with the 7 foot length, but I wish it were 8 foot. If you have the ability to take the 8 foot, do it.

To reach the upper vent panel to service my slide mounted refer (which doesn't have a roof vent.)

To reach the too-tall power awning to hang a shade cloth from it.

To help a friend fix their broken over-the-door awning so the can go home to get it replaced.

To reach up into a tree to hang the satellite dish cable up over a walkway, so that the dish could be on a clearing where it can see the satellite, yet people can't trip over the cable.

To reach the power outlet mounted high up on the side of a loading dock to get power while at a dog show.

And many other uses...

Has it ever let you down faster than you wanted to go. I know some insurance adjusters who will no longer touch one.

For the last two winters I've been bumming ladders off of others in the parks we've stayed at. Everything from 8 footers, to collapsible (little giant,) to 4 footers. At 11.5 feet rig height I have found an aluminum 5 footer is perfect. Can reach the top of the sides for waxing and caulking, easy to wash windows with, and very light weight so never a problem there. The others were either to big, or way to heavy.

Lots of interesting thoughts. It sounds like the 8 footer would be the way to go and since I already have 2 that size there's no extra cost. Thanks for the input.
