I took my 1994 34 foot Allegro Bay to have front end aligned. Apparently I have a number of parts that are worn out ie tie rods etc. The tech also said upper A frame bushings are worn. Does anybody know of the correect process fro replacement? The spring is attached below and not directly to the upper a arm. Help would be appreciated.

Maybe it did not get greased years ago. We have a 1992 with over 100K miles. There is some wear and it does drive better after a grease job. A lot of the rubber boots are cracked but it is 18 years old. A rag can be tied around them if desired and when it gets grease soaked it helps keep in the grease.
My take is all old equipment will show wear but may still be safe. When you do a tear down to replace A frame bushings you are talking major labor and might consider redoing the brakes while they are off.
Tie rod ends is a low brainer however.
What kind of problems have you taking it to a frontend shop?

I beleive the bushings are zinc. No greasing.
The only way i know of to replace is to relieve the pressure off the springs.
I don't think you would want to do it yourself.
The springs are not attached. They are held in by the tension of the springs between the two a frames.

Went to shop because of MH pulling to the right and too much time correcting steering wheel. Relay arm and drag link also on drivers side need replacing. Already did both bell cranks and front springs with super steer products.

enblethen you may very well be correct. I know there is 12+ to grease under the frontend but I did not pay attention what each fitting greased. I do know the owner for the 10 years prior to our purchase over greased everyone. I just have to look up over the drive shaft to find each grease point.

Gale:
I had zinc ones in my old class C. I cheated and looked up on O'Rielly auto parts website for the P chassis.
the front ball joints work better after a good lube.

I failed to grease ours for a long time after we got it then I greased it well and it really seemed to driver better. We have an old backhoe with a lot of wear but a good greasing will tighen things up a bit for a while but it needs a few shots every day you use it anyway.
On the MH I hit everything with five shots if I do not see any coming out a few two shots catch it.

Gale,
Your MH has definitely been around the block a few times. Does it drive without nearly constant steering correction. That is the problem I seem to be having. How long have you had the MH?

Twice to AK per past owner.
On some roads I can go 1/4 mile with no hands.
Purchased July 2007 with 90K miles.
Not sure why people have to replace front-end parts before 200K miles.
A guess is they wear them out by over correcting them. I have driven trucks with a quarter turn of play in the steering but our P30 is tighter than a jug so to speak. It drives like a dream and now like a 1.5 dream with the new blue front stablizer bushings.
Steer Safe I guess helps control driver abuse. Not sure how many years the PO had it before installing Steer Safe but he did say it was the best $350 he spent on it the 10 years he owned it. I think it was about 5 years/30K mile old when he bought it. I know over greased everything.
I would install a Steer Safe on any P30 before hitting the road with it.
