I have been looking through the forums and I do see that some folks use a tent for their Roadtrek often or ocassionally. I see that they use from the sidedoors.
Has anyone used a tent in the rear of the ROadtrek?
I had been looking at the SUV Napier tent. Good thing I called the company: I was told that they didn't fit a Roadtrek.
I am thinking mostly to use with the lil grandkids or 1 other adult, coming along.
BTW, I am totally new here.ALso new to Class B. I gotta
a 1996 Roadtrek 190 in June and I am taking very baby steps in Central O-h-i-o %^)

Likely you'll get more cogent answers if you ask the moderator to move this post to the Class B forum. But AFAIK nobody makes a ready-built rear=door tent for a Roadtrek, or generic Dodge (I assume?) van.

You would probably just do better to get a small tent to set up alongside the RV when you are at a campground. Of course, you would have to check with the CG to see if they allow that, but with a "B", you are taking up such a small amount of room, I don't see it as a problem.

If you did get a tent to stick off the back, you'd be climbing over each other to get to bed....probably the reason that they don't bother with it! A side tend might make sense, but I think you'll find that there isn't enough call for it, as the people that want that much room, will move up to a "B+" or "C" MH.

A nice cheap tent will work great for grandkids.....

I use one from Cabela's....lightweight---easy to set up---and the crawly things can't get into it....it'll mate up with both my Silverado cap and with the rear doors on my CT-to-TH conversion---it's about the same height and width rear doors as your B---but, what I really like about it, is I can move the vehicle and the tent back zips completely closed while I'm gone....it was about $159 on sale last fall.

I've been looking to buy or fabricate something for those rear doors for several years now. I went to the Cabellas site and found a screen room that might work - is that what you were referring to in the Cabellas post, if not, which tent exactly did you get? The other item I thought I could use on that site was the electric blanket, which I'd like to use on that cold floor as overnight insulation on cold nights.

Put bananadanna in the search box and pull up Dan's posts. He has all kinds of tents rigged for his B and I'm pretty sure he has posted on the subject within the past six months. I also have a 1996 RT. I have made a screened covering for the back but no tent yet. lizzie

Welcome to the "B" world. Can't help you with your question but I have learned about B's by attending the B-Rallys in May. Go to: B-Rally
