Can anyone tell me the quality of the 2002 Chinook Concourse XL and if it worth looking into.

Not made anymore..out of business. When they were made up to 2005 (I think this was the last year) they were beautiful, top of the line units.
Maybe you could get some help from their club..

What questions do you have about the Chinook Concourse?

They were quite expensive when new. In my opinion, they are of very high quality. The Concourse was about $20,000 more than the Destiny. I saw both side by side and it would be hard to choose the Destiny after seeing the Concourse. The 4 wheel Baja was about $20,000 more.

My unit was very well equipped at the factory; heated/cooled cup holders, hot water heater bypass, heated tanks, tank flusher, Slinky hose holder, hidden safe, 50 watt solar panel and the MorRide rubber spring system added to the rear axel. The full fiberglass body is a definite plus.

The ride is extremely smooth. Built on the Ford E350 chassis, it has the 10 cylinder engine, loves to travel at 70 mph, and gets 11 mpg. Mine has been above 14,000 feet and north of the Arctic Circle, been in the wilderness and New York City.

The Chinook Concourse makes a great cruising / touring rig. My Concourse has traveled over 10,000 miles on at least 14 ferries. Its 21 foot length normally keeps it in the cheapest ferry rate as they charge by the foot. I can park it almost any where and the rear door makes it easy to get into while parked. The rear door also maximizes the room inside.

It is too bad that Chinook went out of business, but it did cost more to make a quality coach and not enough people were willing to pay the extra preliminary cost.

I think that the Chinook is considered a Class C unit so you might find more info in the Class C forum below. The Chinook is in a class by itself, they look great on the outside and inside and are quite roomy. Personally I like the rear entrance, and the bath area is way better than the B's. Only disadvantage is the fuel mileage isn't as good as a B (about 11-12 mpg vs about 15 mpg for gas powered) and used ones cost a lot of money.......but they're worth every penny. We're happy with our PW Excel, but I still envy the lucky folks who own a Chinook. If you can find one in good shape for reasonable price, grab it!
