After reading a few posts, I am curious, as to who makes the choice of the RV that they have purchased or will purchase. Wife or Husband?

Here in our home it is me (Sally) right down to learning and knowing about delamination, MH chasiss wheelbase ratio, RV type that fits us best, size, fuel type, the electrical, the plumping. What add ons for safety and ease of drive I am looking for or will do. There is not an element of this I have not read about, tried to educate myself about, and when all is done, DH will take for a test drive, and I will ask, you ok with driving this, and he will say yes or no, but yes...lol.

This may make me sound controlling, lol, but not the case. Dh would rather have me do all this work, and when something goes wrong, I say this is it, this is what I have read, been told this can be fix or taken care of in this manner, and he does it. Just wondering if other wifes/partners are as involved in this way.

This is posted in two areas, as I have no idea how I orginially posted in Snowbirds..lol.

I do the homework, the research, and all. I figure finances, do the negotiations when buying and I do all the campground hunting and reservations, then I tell him what I found and he says if it is ok with him. When it comes to finding a floor plan I also do the leg work. Then I show him and he is usually in agreement. (He can live with anything) He is not a planner or a researcher. So it is a good thing I don't mind doing it. but someone in the family must do it. If he had a problem with you doing it, he would do it himself. So you are not alone here some women must do it, especially if they have the interest..

Each person in a partnership is going to fulfil some of the tasks that need to be done. It doesn't matter who does what. I tend to focus on the mechanical aspects, my wife focuses on the comfort and house keeping aspects. She is in charge of the finances day to day, I tend to take the lead on the big picture finances. As the only person licensed and physically capable of doing the driving, I do that. I also do all the mechanical maintenance, but she made the quilted bed covers and stocked the bus with all the food and cooking supplies...

I am like Hoops, I also do all the researching, planning, figuring finances, negotiations, even fixing on the RV, etc. His job is to tow it although I also do that sometimes. He does not like computers, does not care to read although he will read information that I have printed for him and he generally relies on my judgment.
It can be humorous at times when we are talking with folks and they ask questions about specs for either the truck or the RV. He shrugs and turns to me for the answers. As long as both of you are satisfied with your arrangement, great. Don't worry about what other folks do.

Like Hoops says , someone in the family must do the planning and with us it's me ,the female half. I really enjoy it and my husband doesn't so it works out well. I do the research on everything ,run the choices by him and we make a decision together.

We do the same, but the roles are reversed. I love the planning and researching and she is content to allow me to do that - as long as she has the power of the "veto".

I think I am a bit surprised, I thought for some reason more men would say nope all me. I think many of us are married to same man...lol. Read, research, no honey you do that. I do love it, for me it is all part of the fun.
Thanks for answering.

As DW doesn't care that much for camping and camping is my passion, I make all the camping related decisions. Nothing macho or sexist about it...just the way it is.

We are the same as cdrcos. I do the research and find something that I think she and I would like and let her know. If she doesn't like it, the search goes on. Works well for us.
