Wayne County Fair Grounds in Belleville on the I-94 exit 190 take north service drive to the left about 1/2 mile. They have electric and water about $22 a night phone 734-697-7002. If you want full hook ups then I'd go with Harbortown in Monroe.
Just left the place, the fair grounds that is. Spots can be tight IF there are campers around. When we were there, nothing was going on, lots of room. Power was superb as opposed to reviews. Dump station easy to use. Real close to lots of stuff.

There are no RV parks in Detroit with the exception of the state fairgrounds when it is open and I would not recommend that. There is the Greenfield KOA (Which may have changed names now) on the west side (I think it is in Romulus) and if you are a member of the MOOSE there is a lodge in Taylor with RV parking. Electric and one water faucet.

The nearest state parks are "NO camping" You could "Slab" it but .. .. Not really a good idea (Many abandoned parking lots)

There may be some RV parking around the Joe Louis Arena and that will be in teh area you are going to as well. (Actually it is on WEST side, but not all that far)

I do not know if the MGM Grand Casino (if they have not moved) has RV size parking spaces or not. You might try it as well. it's like 5 or six blocks from the point where west Lafayette turns into East Lafayette.

I have personal parking in that area but alas... It's a company lot and .. Well.. I retired from there. That won't help you.

Wayne County Fair Grounds is a good place to stay if all you need is a place to sleep and eat. Close to shopping and food.
If you need full hookups. Then Harbor Town is the place.
It is 12 miles farther to Harbor town to your destination. 31 or 43 miles.

I would not park any RV in Detroit...JLA really only has a parking garage plus the surrounding city and privately owned parking lots but not really that big for a RV of any size...MGM Grand detroit has mainly their 9-story parking garage...

Park it outside the City of Detroit and drive your toad in (assuming you have one)...also in Detroit you have the 3 casinos, the People Mover to see what the city limits are like, the Detroit Institute of Arts, and Belle Isle among other places

Another Michigander, stay at Harbortown and drive into Detroit. You won't be sorry. I wouldn't even stay in a Wal-Mart in detroit!

Been there too.

IF I still had a house I'd have parking for you, but alas the bank owns it now.

Once you go in the city of Detroit you will see why everyone says not to stay there overnight.
