We recently bought a used truck camper that came with no steps. I ordered a set of Torklift folding steps that arrived today but was disappointed to see that they have to be lifted off and stored every time we travel. This will be a big hassle everytime we stop for lunch, a potty break or whatever! Has anyone gotten around this by attaching these particular steps or similar steps permanently?

I built a 'porch' and attached the steps to the porch. Camper rides on a 4x4 and the single Lance step was just too long of a reach.

Our camper came with a simple flip-down step that we use when on the road. We use the nicer portable ladder at the camp spot. Can you add a simple flip step?

I use the same Tork lift Glow steps and mounted them semi-permanent. I can remove the Z brackets and lock nuts if I want to remove them.
They ride perfect resting on my reciever hitch.

I've had my torklift steps for 3 weeks, in comparison to taking out the 4' ladder and setting it up all the time the steps are no bother. I have the 5 step, the dog, the 6 yr old and my wife all have it much easier now. I took a spill last year at night trying to negotiate the 4' step ladder that was our other acess while the camper was on the truck, now it's all easy going night or day. Torklift does it again.

I received a generator shelf to mount on the rear bumper of my new Palomino. I talked to the supervisor at Palomino and asked how much weight it could hold. He said he weighed 250# and always stands on it. So instead of using it for the genset, I just mounted it under my door. It is about 25" X 18" and is just right for stepping in an out of the TC. A short ladder will get me to it when the TC is still on the truck.

We are in a similar situation. Do steps exist that an older, somewhat arthritic, dog can use?
