My recently purchased '93 Popular came without the seat back for the "lounge" seat, behind the front passenger seat. Any suggestions where one might find one, or has anyone out there fabricated one, or . . . . ?

Thanks, Jim R, Chattanooga

IIRC, my '02 Pop's second-row seat just had a full-sized sorta-rigid cushion for a back, that was supported by the front wall of the bathroom, held in place by a metal channel. There was also a small head cushion held to the wall with velcro. I think the main cushion was slightly tapered, thicker at the bottom. But that was newer, and a Chevy.

You might ask if anyone here has one of a similar age that they can photograph & measure for you. Then take that info to a local auto upholstery shop (AKA 'trim shop'). Probably cost less than ordering one thru a RT dealer, even if still available.

Best of luck!

Our 1995 Roadtrek Versatile second seat had a shaped cushioned back mounted to plywood. It mounted to the wall using a formed sheet steel channel sliding into another formed channel. Go to the link below and follow "On the Road Again" and then "Roadtrek Van Slideshow" for some pictures of the shape. The headrest over the cushion was also on plywood and mounted to the wall with velcro.

Thanks Handbasket, Howgregg. I kind of figured what you have described. The channel is there on the bath wall, so I will need to find the mating channel for seat back and "build" a cushion. Happy "Treking!" I haven't had a chance to hit the road as yet other than bringing mine home from Pensacola. Am looking forward to a "real" excursion. Ever been to Rugby, TN? Will probably be my first trip, not too far and supposedly an interesting and beautiful part of north central Tennessee.
