Hi, I don't want to beat the Yuma topic to death but we are looking for an RV park in Yuma. We are looking for a park with not alot of windy conditions. Also I am looking for a park with not too many park models, just a general TT, MH or 5th wheel park. Also a park where the general age of the participants are under 65. Oh Yes! Quiet too. Does this exist??

You lost it at not windy, almost regained us with primarily RVs not park models (possible, though not as common as the park model parks), and sealed your fate with needing the average age under 65. We personally chose Palm Springs, CA. The Outdoor Resort parks there meet more of those qualifications though they are expensive. Still get wind, though not as dusty as Yuma (more golf courses and manicured lawns) and the average age at the parks probably creeps down into the upper 50s. We are still among the youngest at the park, but the people are really active and Palm Springs has a lot of activities geared to the younger crowds.

Thanks for the replies. We are spending a couple of weeks in Palm Springs before heading to Yuma. Then off to Borrego Springs for 3 months. Now if I were to rephrase my requests and just ask for a park that is not too windy, what would we find? I guess we can live with "Old Fogies" for a couple of weeks. We ain't no spring chicks ourselves!!

Some of those "old fogies" could out party alot of people my age(lets just say over 55) and they are alot of fun. They don't all just sit on their porch and play canasta

Well, now that RV Lifer 1952 has modified his request so that he can associate with us old geezers, I will be following this thread with more interest.
I have heard that spaces with cabanas are available in the Foothills. Are these usually associated with private residents who rent them out, or are they in trailer parks?
Is there a place where one can hang his hat that is somewhat out in the country, but close enough to the city for fairly easy shopping, etc.
We want to hear the coyotes howl(not the drug runner variety)!
Do the best you can with what you have to work with.

River Front RV Park
(928) 783-5868
It is on Colorado River in town. Has some trees and as such, the wind is greatly reduced.

Palm Spring is great for weather. I think it probably has the best weather in the nation in the winter. Although its near a wind farm the winds mostly miss the Coachella Valley unless you are in Desert Hot Spring.
Yuma's main attraction seems to be that it cheap and has two Super Walmarts but no Costco. Thats probably all you need to know about Yuma. One of my favorite memories of staying in a Yuma park is of a group of senior women getting up early in the morning taking a brisk exercise walk and smoking at the same time.
Borrego Spring skews to the young side and its off the beaten track. I think the fact the nearest Walmart is 46 miles away keeps a lot of people from staying in the area. Very little wind in town but once you get east of the grade school its almost as windy as Yuma.
