Just started researching generators a few days ago and have never used one while camping. I have decided to spend the money on a Honda after reading some posts. I want to be able to run the air. Is having two 2000 more of a hassle than just having one 3000 to deal with. The weight is actually lighter with the two 2000 and run about the same money. Is running two a lot louder than just one 3000? Any suggestions appreciated, as I will be purchasing soon before a trip out west after Labor Day Thanks.

No, easier. Imho, yes.

Flip a coin. The weight of one 2000 is a lot easier to load by yourself, only need to unload one to make coffee in the morning, 4000 watts vs 3000, etc. the sound would be about the same, given the same load. 3000 has the option of remote start/stop, 2000 are pull start only, in the rain, in the dark, in the morning.

Can you handle the weight of the 3000? It's heavy but if you can move it by yourself it may be more convenient.
However if physically loading/unloading the 3000 is an issue. Twin 2000's may be a better solution.

Hi,

The electric start and ability to add a remote control would tip me to the 3000.

I opted for two EU2000's for a few reasons. Only need to use one for most of the time. Weighs a lot less. Still have power if one of them needs maintenance (two is one, one is none). Less fuel use when powering small demand items. Also two EU2000's have more available power than one EU3000.

The downside is that you have two to maintain, no electric start, easier to steal. The 3000 has a larger fuel tank.

I had a 2000 and later sold it and got a 3000 so I could run our 15K A/C if needed as we boondock. I later added a remote control start ($250) to the 3000 so we don't have to go out to start it. Nice.

I used to worry about getting th 2000 stolen as we winter in the BLM in Quartzsite. But with the 3000 it is too heavy to be stolen easily me thinks. Just something to think about.

I second this. I have the remote control and love it. really nice not having to go outside when it's storming to shut of the gennie.

I had two new EU2000 which worked great but I had a chance to buy a EU3000 for the price of a EU2000. So now I run the 3000 in the back of my TV and just leave it chained down at all times. The elect start is great and in my opinion
the EU3000 is quieter than the two EU2000s. So I sold the two EU2000s for what I paid for them several years before. Then later I bought another EU2000 on Craigs List for next to nothing. I use the 2000 if I know I will not need A/C.
I really like the EU3000 but two EU2000s are great also. Your choice but you can not go wrong either way. I am in my 70s and I can handle the EU3000 weight
wise
