Sure enough, there is a whole section for "MONACO COACH CORP. SAFARI COACH DIVISION"
Seems like 2002 to 2009 are OK!

Please do not pst that BS about CSA approval. Not a requirement for anything in Canada. That is something that from 20 years ago. May new applainces do not have CSA approval. But they have ULC. Your insurance company could care less.

I have been involved in importing more than a few RV's into Canada. If it is not on the list, it is NOT coming in and no amount of mods will get it in. This includes RV's made in Canada but for export to the US, eg, Roadtrek, Vanguard, Bigfoot etc. If they were built for export they will never come back into Canada if they are not on the list.

A quick question for those that have imported to Canada. How many RV's were private purchases and how many were not. Just wondering, I was thinking perhaps purchasing for an RV dealership (used) might be an easier import. Could be completely wrong? Thanks Sally

I've imported 3 5th wheels from the US...two from a dealr and one private party. We need a recall clearance letter. A private party doesn't know what this is. A dealer usually does and may be able to supply it. So a dealer may be easier.

Dang I clean forgot about the Recall Clearance Letter! Yes that is also something that will be needed as well before the Inspection gets done at Can Tire. You can get that from the Chassis Maker! And about the CSA Thing Moisheh You are absolutely Right The Canadian Dealers will quote that Old 1969 Requirement until the Cows Come Home!It doesn't mean a thing! Nor does the "Propane Inspection" utter BS!

I think you are wasting your time. If's it's not on the list, The Canada Border and Immigration will not let the vehicle come into Canada alterations or not. The vehicle is simply not approved and you have to be careful with this.
I brought a motorhome into Canada a few years ago and the acceptable approved import vehicles are strict rules. Make a copy and take the list with you on your hunt for an RV in the U.S. Otherwise, you will be storing it in the U.S. The insurance company can do nothing and have nothing to do with this subject. Go to RIV ( Registered Import vehicles website as previously mentioned to get the information or call them on the 1-800 number.

Incidently, there are many steps in importing a vehicle in Canada. The FIRST step is to make sure you can import it into Canada. The steps are all laid out in the website. If you study this, you won't forget things like the clearance recall letter etc. Take a copy of the steps also.
One needs to take the time to study what actually needs to be done, step by step. It sure lessens the hassle at the border and the running around later trying to get the proper forme etc. I beleive RIV gives you 45 days to get the federal approval from Canadian Tire. The clock is ticking when you leave the border and if you need to get more forms etc, the clock is ticking.

Thanks for all the great advice. Since starting all this the rig I had my eye on is no longer available. So now goes the big hunt again but at least I am better informed and have added some more options and am armed with more knowledge of the important questions to ask.
Rvers are the best!
