We are seriously thinking of trading down into a smaller unit with a rear bathroom, a Coachmen24FBS. Another poster on here earlier questioned the rear kitchen and bouncing around that happens with any TT rearend, causing the contents to spill out all over the place. Everybody that answered had no problem. One person responded with a bad reply on bathrooms. Now this has us questioning this move. From experience we know proper loading of items makes a difference, but does anybody out there have a rear bath that they now have regrets about there purchase? This will be our last TT and we want to make sure everything goes right. Our unit now has a very small bathroom, one of the reasons why we like the size of the rear bath, much more room. Thanks

We don't have a rear bathroom....but there are literally tens of thousands of them out there, so I would tend to think that if there were any serious problems, the Mfgrs would have stopped with that design.

I'm sure you'll hear from people who have actually lived with them, so the insight will be great!

I have a TT rear bathroom in my Spree 324BHS unit. I don't think that the back of our RV bounces around any more then the front.

I think that the amount of -bounce- that you can have in the rear of a TT can vary very much from RV to RV. Some RV's don't even have springs, but instead have the axles bolted to the frame. Other factors like the inflation of the tires, or the type of tires, or the placement of the wheels in relation to the frame length, or even how close it is to it's rate rating could influence the amount of rear end bounce going down the road.

If you're that concerned about it, you could always look into adding shocks to the RV springs.

Prior to getting our 5er 3 years age we had a 25ft Tahoe Glide Light TT with a rear barhroom and we had no problems with it except when we had the couch and the table both made into beds as they were opposite each other and then you had to crawl over the sleeping person if you went to the rear bathroom during the night.(Front queen size bed)
Other than this it posed no significant problems.

We had a 22 ft Summit TT with a rear bath. I liked that better than the side baths I had experience with. The rear seemed to have more room and had a large closet and storage shelves.

We had a 26'TT with a rear bath. I didn't like it because it was on one side and the bed was on the other side. The mattress had one corner cut off to allow the bathroom door to open up. The bed was extremely difficult to make up due to the configuration. We had no other problem with the bathroom. we had a 34'TT with a rear kitchen and we both loved the setup. Never had a problem with stuff falling or jumping. Our last TT, the 34' one did have shocks on the axle.

I have a Trail Sport 25S with a rear bath and I think it's great! We don't have things shifting around or bouncing. I think it gives the rest of the trailer a more open feeling since there isn't a bump out in the middle for the bathroom.

OK I have to ask... how did you get a rear bath in you 324BHS.. in mine it is just behind the axle but before the bunks.... I guess thats the rear of the middle.. LOL

But on topic... the only time I had ANYTHING bounce was when I forgot to take down my table.... it bounced a bit and fell over and wore down a peice of corner trim....

Thanks for the responces. This unit does not have shocks on it, our current trailer doesn't have them either. We have the rear livingroom and things bounce all over the place, you should see our mini blinds, no matter what we do they always seem to look worse every trip we take, from all the bouncing around. The coachmen we are looking at is two feet shorter and sits lower to the ground so maybe this wont be much of an issue. Also the sofa is a jackknife model on a slide out, so there is plenty of room to get buy, even with the slide retracted, so when we make stops we can still use the bathroom.
