I use RainX wash and wax in the bucket with a long SOFT bristled brush...applied at the return of each trip....has kept a nice shine on our unit for 6 years now....and you don't have to "kill" yourself to do as compared to the "canned" waxes...IMHO, of course

I use Protect-All on just about everything on the Motor Home, atleast twice a year. don't forget the A/c cover, vent covers, and anything else that's on the roof. This stuff really works great. easy on, easy off. You can find this stuff at Wal-mart. In between i use a good wash & wax when I wash the Rv.

First the disclaimer. I have only done this on my painted aluminum body RVs. I couldn't tell you about Fiberglass.
My introduction to floor wax for RVs happened when I bought a 7 year old Travel trailer from a owner that was using Mop and Glow on it when I went to buy it. I used that for awhile but found it to yellow to much. I switched to Johnson's "Brite" and it worked great. I only had to wax it once per year and it didn't yellow from the buildup. One thing I noticed is that the paint didn't run down the gutter when I washed it after using Brite. I used it on my 77 Ideal trailer from 84 until I turned it over to my daughter in 2006. It still had the original paint job.
I currently have a Wildwood 2004 that's getting the same treatment. I am sad to report that Johnson's Brite is no longer on the market so I am trying out "Pledge with Future Shine" as it's made by Johnson. It goes on great with a Faux sheep skin wash mitt that I wet and wring out. I squirt the wax into it and apply and what a shine. Durability, can't tell ya, it's to soon.

The paint on my Sunflyer was pretty dull. The paint had become oxidized and porous, looked bad even after a thorough cleaning. My favorite polish is Nufinish, but it would not bring back the shine. I tried several other popular wax/polish products with poor results. Short story. I cleaned the MH thoroughly using Simple Green and Walmart auto soap. I did it twice to make sure that all the grime/grease/wax was off then wiped suspicious looking spots with surface cleaner. Using a microfiber pad, I applied three coats of Holloway House Quick Shine floor finish to the entire RV, waiting 30 minutes between coats. It looked great, the shine was back. Even the faded vinyl striping looked better. That was almost two years ago, the Quick Shine has so far not yellowed, peeled or lost its' luster. The coach has been washed several times since the application, bugs and grime come off easily and best of all, the dreaded black streaks come right off with auto wash soap. It seems that the oxidized paint was sealed up pretty well with the Quick Shine. I can't forecast just how long this stuff will hold up, but time will tell.

I sure like Nu-Finish because it doesn't need to be rubbed and lasts twenty times as long as mouse-milk products that are part of a soap and water bath.

There has been an ongoing discussion about using PoliGlow vs Red Max Pro Floor Finish at the Fiberglass RV Forum that might be worth looking at.
