You will be very limited on 5th wheels with that TV, TT would be a much better choice IMO

Thanks everyone. I've checked some specs. on the internet and it looks like I'm very limited to the size of 5th wheel I could safely pull.

Had 5 tt's,and finaly got the 5th.and said! self,why did you wait so long? stupid me! Life is good with the 5th.

For the OP - due to your Tow Vehicle, you're probably better off with a TT. More size/weight options
(But, keep in mind, TTs can be heavy also!)
My experiences are exactly *opposite* of RRUGGs!
Besides slide-in camper, and two MH's -
I've owned two TTs - towed with Vans and 1T pickup.
All properly equipped, sway control, etc.
First TT in 1975, towed all over the US and parts of Canada.
After my first 5th wheel (one I have now) - I know I should have done that (the 5th) way back when!
(IMO) Difference is Night and Day!
No comparison to towing a TT - could never go back.
5th much more stable - not affected by passing semis, wind gusts, etc.
Easy to forget it's back there.
TT might be initially easier to *learn* to back up.
But - either one should be fine - pay attention to weight, or you will be buying a new pickup!

The last time I looked, Tundra had a Cargo Capacity of 1200 to 1400# depending on the truck configuration. Not to many 5vr choices, but they are there. Jim

I think I may have found a 5th wheel that we like with a hitch weight of just under 1,000 lbs. I know with the hitch installed and truck and trailer loaded I may be a little over the payload of my truck.
Is this safe? My payload is just shy of 1,400 lbs.
Will the installation of the hitch effect the resale of my truck?

Removing: They are heavy (I would guess 150-200lbs and akward), but once you learn the trick it's easy. Simply leave the hitch attached to the pin box and pull the pins. When you raise the front of the 5er the hitch goes with it. Make sure to lock the hitch so someone doesn't accidentally release it as it's hanging.
Hitch price: Unless you want one of the fancy ones, around $500-1000 plus installation, which may be a bit higher cost if you don't want to do it yourself. Try to make them throw it in as part of the deal. If not look on craigs list and you should be able to find them fairly cheap.
Weight limits: This will be your big limitation. There are some out thier, but unless you want to do suspension upgrades you will be limited.
Advantages: I've driven both and the 5er is much nicer. Not that a TT properly outfitted is dangerous, but so much smoother in a crosswind or when a semi passes. You get more storage on a 5er, but lose storage in the truck. While there are bunkhouse 5ers, if you are a couple, the 5ers generally have much better bed setups (assuming you have the higher profile and can stand up in the front).
If you are set on keeping the truck, I would probably focus on the TT's. If you are willing to trade in for a 3/4 or 1 ton and you are a couple, you will probably appreciate the 5er's advantages.

Thanks valhalla360. I'm starting to lean towards a 5th. Most of the time it will be just the two of us. I found a 5th wheel with a nice floorplan with a hitch weight of 977 lbs. I think we will be a little over the payload of the truck when loaded but well within the tow limits. I got a price of $1,300 for a sliding hitch installed. When and if I go with a 5th wheel I'll try to get them to include it in the price. Without towing either the TT or 5th it's hard to know how they would be but by design the 5th should be much better.
