We’ve upgraded from a class C to a class A Itasca Sunrise 33v. I'm wondering if the hydraulic levelers should have some grease applied when they’re extended? I noticed the front jacks retracted faster then the back jacks. Does this mean anything? They have springs for retraction. Thanks in advance.

No grease. Most important thing is to keep them clean. Spray with silicone spray and wipe down.

Sound like HWH levelers. No Grease!!! Wash them off with a hose and water and wipe off with WD40. These should be the directions:

Power Gear recommends wiping the cylinders down with ATF...
You may want to check and see if they have a grease fitting ...mine has one per cylinder.

Some jacks with no visible springs have a grease zerk on them. Use a lithium based grease only.
Some jacks with visible springs normally do not have a zerk to grease them.
My rear jacks have grease zerks, the front do not.
I use silicone spray if they have been extended for a long length of time to keep them moving and nice and shinny.

Mine are PowerGear with external springs. I grease the rears when I service the chassis, and spray the rams with silicone each time right before I retract them for travel. I don't lay on the ground and wipe them at all. They have been trouble free since 2004.

Do not grease, WD-40, or use transmission fluid on your jacks. Use only 100% silicone spray available from NAPA. It is made by 3M. Costs about 8-9 dollars a can. The HWH people told us this at the Winnebago Grand National Rally and then there was a run on the available supply. They were adamant, not to use anything else.

Yeah, my manual also said this should be done once a week if the leveler are out for an extended time.

Have never cleaned or greased our Kwikee LB 2000 jacks in the 10 years we've had our coach. All it states in the "Care & Maintenance" section of the manual is, "while in storage, extend and retract the jacks once a month." I'm guilty of not even doing that, but will start doing so in the future.
