Hi Alex,
I thought the load balancing was part of the equation too--but I wasn't sure. Does it require setting up to do fail over vs load balancing?
I'm delighted with the MBR1200.

glad you are enjoying the mbr1200!

you can set it up to only do failover, or to always be load balancing.
while it is load balancing, it will also ensure that a request is handled by a live connection at some point... so its like always in failover mode.

to me, if you have multiple modems you are paying for, you might as well be using them all the time, right?

In doing some coverage comparisons, it appears that VM does not have access to coverage under Sprint's roaming agreements. Just something to keep in mind before ordering. Make sure you'll have coverage where you expect to need it.

just fyi... when using virgin mobile's coverage map, make sure you turn on the checkbox for 'high speed' (located above the map)

Virgin must be busy signing up new customers as this is the first morning in two months with a slow connection.

It may be helpful to learn about real Download / Upload speeds using the BroadbandToGo system. Anyone running the new system willing to post their results.

I just tested my connection using THIS TEST.

My results. I have DSL to my house and am running this using my wireless laptop in a different room.

Test#1 Download 2.33 Mbps Upload 0.43 Mbps Server 100 miles away
Test#2 Download 2.20 Mbps Upload 0.42 Mbps Server 530 miles away

Tom, Thanks for the numbers. I think this info will let people make a more informed decision of what system best fits their needs.

Would be nice if we could get similar daya from others who use other Internet connections.

The numbers seem low compared to the feel. Pages pop up about as fast as with faster Wi-Fi connection. If they are like gas mileage, the numbers people post might be accurate, or not. Mine were.
