A Flush King reverse flows the city water to rinse the black or gray tanks and will unclog the stoppage with out getting your hands icky.

Sold by Camping World attaches to the dump outlet and has a clear section so you can see when the tank is cleaned out.

Oh my gosh, I didn't know that pipe did not go straight down!!!

Well, just a thought. If I would do that I would have poo on top of the black tank and all over in the utility bay. If you can't normally see inside you black tank, don't use a stick. Don't want to poke any holes where there are none.

Thanks all. Sounds like the segment of water hose may be the best idea for my situation. (should this ever occur to me!)

That is the primary use of the awning pull-down rod. Secondary use is to pull down the awnings. Tertiary use is roasting hot dogs over an open fire.
Helps if you have three separate rods, but two will do the trick.

Uh... once I used the pull-down rod for it's primary use I think I would stop using it for its tertiary use.

But that's just me.

I know all about flushing with lots of water/don't dump black tank till at leat 1/2 full/etc. But when the pipe between the toilet and balck tank gets clogged, what do you use to unstop it? (not that this has ever happened to me)

Not sure everyone really read your question...as it seems most of the replies apply to your black tank, or flushing your black tank.

Most cases the toilet dumps straight down to the black tank...but in some cases, there is a length of sewer pipe between the exit of the toilet and the black tank. In these cases, there is usually a macerator pump inline to ensure that everything gets "moved along", so to speak, and makes it all the way to the tank.

Is this the section of pipe you are referring to?

My black tank has a ledge under the toilet pipe. Toilet paper sometimes builds up at that point. I use to flush using a hose and that would take care of the problem.

Even easier is filling the entire toilet basin up with water (several gallons) then flushing. That amount of water has worked every time to remove the toilet paper.
