I know all about flushing with lots of water/don't dump black tank till at leat 1/2 full/etc. But when the pipe between the toilet and balck tank gets clogged, what do you use to unstop it? (not that this has ever happened to me)

That when I found out the second use for the awning pull down rod.

Since then I always put at least 2 to 3 gallons of water in right after dumping the black tank and I haven't had to use the rod that way again.

I have a MH that does from time to time have a problem with the pipe between the toilet and the Black tank getting stopped up. I keep a special hose, or pipe , what ever you want to call it, I bought it at CW just for that reason, it works well and will un stop the pipe easily.

I carry a few 4' pieces of old garden hose with me at all times. It comes in handy for breaking up the dreaded pyramid. Just be careful when carrying the used hose through the RV after using it.

How about a plain old plunger? That's what we use. We have that problem from time to time. Works great.

Old rubber hose works for us as well. We've also used the smaller plungers they have out there, about 3 inches across, they work good also.

That is the primary use of the awning pull-down rod. Secondary use is to pull down the awnings. Tertiary use is roasting hot dogs over an open fire.
Helps if you have three separate rods, but two will do the trick.

That's one of the purposes of my multi-purpose pole. I can attach a broom to the end to sweep the floor, a wash-mitt type thing to wash the outside of the rv and, of course, use it to poke down whatever is clogging up the crapper.
