Mine sat on the dealer's lot from Labour Day 08 until I bought it the end of June. Now, they took it out to a show, for enough test drives to empty the tank, and down to the local CAT dealer for them to check it out for me, but it basically sat for those 22 months. So far there haven't been any adverse effects of sitting, the adverse effects have all been from the things the dealer actually did!

Prior to my purchase the rig sat in a heated garage for 4-5 years. At that point in time gas was predicted to go to $5 a gallon and the heating of the garage must have been costing him a pretty penny. He sold the rig at a very good price trying to get out of those expenses.
For the first 24 months I was fighting many gremlins that all seemed to be corrosion based. Didn't cost much money to fix, just my time. Would not suggest buying a rig that sat for any length of time unless you're handy

Maybe 45 days if you mean by unused not started and moved. That is probably the longest it sat in my shop. It was still opened up with slides out and gone in and out of to sit, watch tv and take naps.

Ours only sits about 9-11 weeks of the year is all. Thanksgiving weekend is generally the last outing of the year for us and then it gets put away for December and January. We generally get it out at around the first or second week of Feb and start using it. December is too chaotic with the holidays and January is our fiscal end of year at work and is too busy. Once we get it out of its winter sleep we are gone 2-3 weekends of each month plus several week long trips throughout the year. Mike.

Only over the winter and then I run the generator and start it every week. That is also when we try to get it in for service so we are not laid up during summer.

Contrary to what a lot of people think, heated storage is not as good as cold storage. Corrosion increases with temperature.

My rig, even if sitting, is used nearly every day...
The longest it has sat is about 7 months. which is too long for a vehicle to sit but it survived.
But in that time.. It was USED most every day (At least one room in it was used) as my primary Ham Radio lives here in the rig.
but then now days.... So do I

The Journey sat empty one night while visiting friends. We were in Q, AZ and drove over to Phoenix for the night. Sure hated driving off and leaving her empty.
