Took a few hours with no real hard work, just plan your install in detail.

How did you get the wires for the camera up through the wall?

added a wired back up camera from this place Rear View Safety, (rearviewsafety.com) We purchased item RVS-770613-213 which included 7" TFT LCD, 30° camera infra-red night vision and all the wires, connectors and mounts. I also purchased the license plate mount for the camera.

I ran the cable underneath the camper by removing the under pinning screws one at a time and putting the cable on the other side of the screw and then putting the screw back in. There was plenty of cable so I put the rest of the cable up in the underpinning as well, I ran the cable around the front right landing gear in the front storage compartment and drilled a hole in the storage compartment for the connection. did the same to the truck by the license plate. I want to move the camera to the middle under the back window of the camper but unsure of how to mount. Any ideas? What type screws etc?

Here are some pics

What unit are you using and how many feet between your camera and the receiver monitor?

I had the wireless on the truck and TT.
NC put a law into place that you can NOT cover up the license tags so I had to remove the plate mounted camera. ON the 5er I have it wire tied to the ladder(needs to be angled down a little)then I ran all new wire from about 4 feet down the original camera head wire all the way to the front by way of gas line and over/under anything in the way. Then I reattached the wireless box plug end line and I have enough wire for it be Velcro-ed on the top of the under hanging night lamp, then just installed the monitor in over the rear view mirror because you can't use it when the camper is hooked up anyway. Good signal to the receiver and some interference from other wireless camera from time to time. I have only used it on one trip last November. I haven't even thought of this being a MOD?? just an extra thing for safety

We used coax for the run from the camera to the break-out box in the truck via coax connector next to the 7-way connector on the truck. The photo shows our setup on our previous TT, but the technique would work on a 5ver just as well. A rubber boot over the connector kept it clean when not in use. It survived 3000 miles of Arctic roads and never failed to send a picture to the display.

how do you guys think a camera mounted in the middle of the rear bumper would work for viewing? I would ideally like to mount a camera up high so I can see broad range, but I don't want to run the wires on the outside of our brand new camper, and think trying to snake up the wall will be hard.
