I am going to replace my vent fan and would like to upgrade to something that would actually move some air. Are the Fantastic fans as good as advertised? I don't need auto open/close or a remote, but I would like reverse. Is it possible to add reverse myself just by switching polarity of the motor or is there more to it than that? I also would like to hear opinions on 3 speed vs single speed. Thanks!

Hi,
I would definitely buy the Fantastik Fan. They have a reverse switch model which is neat and not an expensive option. The lifetime warranty is the deciding factor.

The Fantastik fan is fantastic. They stand behind their products. The newer ones can be operated with the vent closed as a ceiling fan. Anytime you see, time after time, good reviews on this forum, for a product, then it is something to buy. JMHO.

Turbo Maxxair with cover. Quieter, 3 speeds, and reverse.
If you are going to invest in a fan buy the cover so you can run it or leave it open all the time, including running down the road in the rain!

Yes, Fantastic Fans are as good as everyone says. I bought their most basic model, the "Create a Breeze" for $70 when it was on sale at CW. It is 3 speed exhaust (no reverse), and moves a lot of air. I just open a window or two and it creates a nice breeze.

I have a 17 year old DP which I have owned for 5 years. The Fantastic Fan has been ON - in exhaust mode- for 4 years straight. I do not know how much use it incurred prior to my purchase.
I finally wore it out -- completely. I called FF and told them straight up I was guessing it was at least 10 years old and I had been running it nonstop for 4 years. I had a replacement fan in 3 days with no hassle.

That's the one I'm looking at, just about to pull the trigger. I like the pop out screen feature also. I thought I needed one with reverse, but have talked myself out of it. Can't really see the need for it. Thanks everyone.
