Help! I am in a pasture camping alone with my family. Got ready to move and my left front jack will not go back up! All others work. I tried hitting store buttons several ti
es, turn it on and off. It will still go down more, but just not come up.
I see a small nut on the side of the jack. If I turn this would that help or make matters worse ?

Run the other jacks down to releave pressure on that jack and try to raise it. There is a good chance that if they are hydrallic the bolt may relieve the pressure. Good luck.

To get help you need to list the make and model of your motorhome and the brand of jacks you have.

Does your motor home have an emergency retract feature. Just this morning I was departing from our vacation spot and when I tried to activate the retractI got no motion. Tried to turn off and on. Finally I tried putting the coach in gear (with emergency brake and service brake applied) and all the alarms went off and the jacks retracted. Have not had time yet to see if they work now.

Could it be stuck in the mud or something. We carry a pry bar and sometimes help the jack or jacks to retract. Ours are HWH hydraulic. If electric I have no suggestions.

I carry a can of silicone lubricant and I spray the jack cylinders just before retracting. Perhaps a bit of lubrication.

If you have air suspension use that to raise and lower the coach, putting boards between the jack and ground on each raise and lower cycle.
I had this same thing happen on the second day of our 3 week shake down cruise. After I got it back up I put a stack of boards under the bad jack each time I used it so it would not lower. Worked like a charm this way on the rest of the trip.
Good luck.

If you have an HWH system, that nut on the bottom won't let it go up-----it'll just leak some oil on you. You need to put the system into "store" mode and use something to lever the jack up. I carry a long handled spade for that purpose and other purposes (never know when a site needs a little leveling or a rut filled). Between the spade and some blocks, I can lever a leveler up (I've got one that sticks occasionally).

If it is the hwh system you have to loosen the T handle that is on the solinoid under the hood next to the oil resivor a couple of turns. This relives the pressure. My solinoid is the 2nd one in from the left.
