The slides come in and then DH hitches up. If we are just staying overnight, we make sure we are as level as possible but don't usually unhook. H.T. Slide goes out at rest stops if needed (have slide over curb most times if possible)with no jacks down. Jacks only go down if staying the night. Hitch up fifth wheel while wife gets inside ready to go. I hook all the time while it is out.. It helps with departing. I do outside stuff. My wife does the inside stuff.
