When I turn my tank valve on, the burners on the stove light just fine. But, the hot water heater, the fridge, and the heater (all which use an igniter to light the pilots) do not light, no propane appears to be present? Do these appliances get propane from a seperate regulater, valve, or somthing? BTW, it's a 1987 Coachman Crusader class C 20ft motorhome. Any insight for things to check out would be helpful. Thanks,
Jeff

NO, just one. The stove muct be the first thing on the line so it gets fresh gas first. Propane goes bad so just keep trying to light until good gas gets there. You could loosen the line on the last thing in the line but you need to know what you are doing so forget that idea.
This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

I know that I leave my propane on during the season to prevent what is happening to you.

I would check to see if I had 12VDC to all appliances given the fact everything that doesn’t work requires an igniter that has 12VDC

Take your time and work on ONE thing at a time. They should all be using the same regulator. I would go to the farthest appliance away from the lp tank and start there first. Keep trying to light it and eventually it should light. I agree with the above post, if you feel comfortable cracking one of the gas lines and purging it. If you dont feel you can do it safely then dont do it. Once you get that one to light then the rest of them should go smoothly after that.
Good luck and be careful.

When you turn off the valves on your LP bottles you allow air in the lines for items like the water heater, furnace etc. You can probably STOP having problems by simply NOT turning off the valves. Mine have not been off since I purchased the trailer in 2005 (except when I remove a bottle to have it filled.) when filling one I'm using from the other. Good luck / Skip

Try looking under the camper and find the gas supply header pipe. On some campers there are individual shut-off valves in the individual branch lines coming off the header. Also check power supply to igniters and orifices at each consumption point you mentioned.

Thanks for all of the helpful info. BTW, the appliances all have power. The igniters work, just no gas. I will climb underneath it this weekend and follow all of the lines. Also, I am aware of air getting trapped in the lines, so I have tried to purge the lines with no luck so far.

Agree. The three appliances you mention require 12v to operate, while the stove top does not.

Just to update on this, I am still working on it with no luck. I think I hate the RV now! I have traced every line from the tank and confirmed LP flow to each appliance. So, I beleive it's an electrical issue. I know I have 12 volts to each appliance (i've checked), also, the igniters work.
What I think is not happening is the solinoids are not being energized. So what am I missing? What tells the solinoids to energize? I called the PO and asked where the magic switch is hidden? He said, no magic switch, and ofcourse "everything worked fine before you bought it" Whatever..... Thanks for any input,
Jeff
