Don't bother, that 12 volt outlet on the HONDA 2000 is next to worthless. It only puts out something like less than ten amps. It would take a hundred years to top off a battery with it (...okay, I'm exagerating - - it would _never_ top it off because the voltage isn't enough to overcome the battery's resistance).

I once tried powering my air pump from that 12 volt outlet and burned out my pump. That's when I realized that the amperage was so low. I really have never thought of a use for that 12 volt outlet and would recommend that you just forget it is there.

The best way to deliver a charge to a battery with a HONDA 2000 is to use a good converter/charger to be the go-between. A good converter/charge (preferably with a 'smart charging' program) will optimize the battery charging process.
