I am getting ready to add air bags to my 2001 Chevy 2500HD. I have looked at Air Lift and Firestone Ride Rite any experience and/or comments with these would be appreciated.

Thanks, Vinnie

I installed the ride rites on my 2006 F250 4x4. They were made for the truck. Very easy to install took about two hours but can do it a lot quicker now that I have done it. They may make the same instalation for your truck. I haven't had any problems with mine so far.

I installed the Firestone Ride Rite on my '02 F250 and it improved the ride when towing our 5er.

I installed Firestone air bags on my 2008 GMC 3500HD. It was a easy bolt on application. I think the older trucks may require some drilling.

I agree with all of the above. Installed Firestone's and run them a 10-15 psi to keep the headlights level. 2 1/2 years with no problems.
Installed them myself with no drilling.

I had a set f the Air Lifts on my 99 Silverado and loved them. When I got my 08 Silverado I chose the Hellwig set....a little easier installation, and same great service out of them. I wouldn`t be without them. I run 30-40 psi pulling my gooseneck depending on load, and 20 pounds with my fiver.

I have air-lifts on my truck have had O problems. Run 20 psi mt, 50 psi fulling the FW. Really does smooth the ride.

so you only run 10-15 psi? I know my weights are higher than yours, 12500+/- empty, but I have been running mine at 55 psi on my f250, I never tried it that low, how does it ride when towing?

I just did this project myself...put Firestone bags in and the air lift compressor and single gauge.

It has made a noticeable improvement.

I have Ride-Rites. They have made a noticable improvement in ride quality when towing. It has all but taken the "bucking" out of towing when on a rough stretch of highway.

On edit: I installed myself and saved $400. If you have the "no drill" ones and use a lift, it will take an hour. They are very, very easy. I didn't install the compressor, just the bags. Now when my DW is in the truck, it has three bags! HA HA!!!!
