We're new to snowbirding, and we're going to be at Sunshine Key RV Resort this winter and would like to talk to and meet other Rv'ers that go or stay there.

Thank You
Mike & Jean

Very very expensive, sardine can type campground, in the middle keys of Florida. Had friends that stayed there in the winter, till the price crossed $2000/mo and kept climbing, then they went elsewhere.

Yes, its expensive as are all the resorts in the florida keys! But it has many amenities (marina, beach, pool nearby fishing on the bridges and lots of friendly people. The longer you stay the cheaper per month charge if you check. You might also check if its your first time on thousand trails discounts etc.

We have been regulars for a lot of years and there really isn't any place like it.

I guess if your are going to be there and want to meet others who go there, then while you are there just say hello and introduce yourself. That is a sure way to meet other RVers who go there!

We are going to be there for the month of Feb. 2011. This will be the first time for us for that length of time. In March we will be going on to Fort Myers Beach to Gulf Air Park. Does anyone know if Sunshine Key is dog friendly as we will bring our golden retriever with us on this tripI am sure it will be better then the cold up here in NJ.

I have just spoken with a rep in an encore call center and asked if Sunshine is a "Dog Friendly Park".
If you had an "agressive breed" you would be unable to bring your dog.

The call center rep said he "imagines" a Golden would be "OK"!

I would suggest you call the Preserve direct and make sure before you get there that your Golden Furkid is welcome!

I had a very nice Akita, not usually on the agressive breed list. But a time or two, he was a "Husky", which were OK.

Yep, actually drove to all of these places---in the last eight years. Missed Rhode Island and New Jersey.
