I have an upcoming trip where we won't be able to get on the road probably until 4pm. We cannot keep our TT at our house so we keep it in storage about 20 minutes away. I was wondering, could I go the storage yard the morning of and turn on the LP gas and fridge and leave it on all day? I know the gas supply would not be a problem, but what about the battery - would it be drained? Is it unsafe to leave that running with no one around? My other thought was the a/c won't be on and the trailer will easily be over 100 degrees inside...
We are just trying to figure out a way to get the fridge cooled down before we pick it up. Looking for some feedback/opinions before we consider actually doing it...

Can't think of any reason you SHOULDN'T leave it on ALL the time. Mine hasn't been off once since 2006 when we purchased the trailer. If it's NOT safe to leave it on with nobody around would you REALLY want your family to sleep in the trailer with it on?

If you're sure you have no leaks, why would it matter. You won't be losing any LP (no leaks), and there is really no additional chance of fire/explosion when there are no leaks.
Now, if you do have leaks.. . ...

I've never thought of turning it on while in storage but it would be really helpful so I may start. To those who leave their fridge on... Is the fridge is using the battery when it is on gas right? How long is that going to last?

sometimes we go 4 or even 6 weeks between trips. I don't see why I would leave the fridge on for that long, using up the gas. Also, I have a stereo that has a clock that stays on constantly so I have to disconnect my battery. If I don't, my battery will be dead the next time I go out there.
But anyway I gather it's no big deal to cool it down before we head out. Thanks for the input.

I leave the campground all the time and the fridge stays running on propane while I am gone.

Just as you stated, you need a 12 v battery source with w good charge to run the refer on propane. If your battery is up to charge then I would have no problem turning on the propane and turning on the battery and lighting the refridgerator at least a day before you leave. I would not leave the refer on all the time it is in storage, just turn the refer on the day before you need it and open the roof vent to help disipate the heat of the day. Your battery should be good to go for that short time.

I always run the frig a day before we go and keep it running for the duration of the trip, even on the road. However, I think it's a waste of gas to keep the frig running when the TT is in storage. What for? I empty it out and leave the door open to dry it out and stop any mold from forming between outtings.
