We currently have a 25 ft Komfort which is much too large for us now. We would like something smaller - preferably 18 ft that we could use in some of the campgrounds in the national forests. A slide is preferable with a queen size bed. Any ideas on models? Also my husband unfortunately has some serious health issues which makes the who hook up and set up process challenging - not sure if there is anything out there that would make things easier. Thank you.

I've not seen an 18 footer with a slide and a queen size bed. Seems a bit like an oxymoron...

I bet most major manufacturers will have a decent selection of RV's in the length you are wanting. A good example would be the Passport 189ml. It has a queen bed up front and a slide out in a 19' package.
For the ease of setup question, look for an RV with all the exterior power options. A power tongue jack, power stabilzers, and power awning would really make it a breeze to do the setup. I find my Equal-i-zer hitch to be much easier than my old bar/chain style hitch. With the power tongue jack, I don't have to do any major lifting, cranking, etc to hitch up.

Lance trailers has a 16' trailer with a slide- model 1685 with queen bed. I have the Lance 1880, 18', no slide but can sleep 7. Both trailers are new models, weigh less than 4000 lbs and are very well made.

Would you consider a Class C? How much do you camp? Possibly rent a Class C?

Our Rockwood Mini Lite 1809S (a Forest River product) it doesn't have the queen bed but does have one slide. We downsized from a 31 foot 5th wheel with two slides and are very have with our new unit. Has a lot of room for only being 18 feet long, very easy to pull with a 1/2 ton pickup. Fully loaded we weigh in a little over 10,000 pounds.
