IMHO, bearing cover and awning issue aren't warranty, as you said---but the fix was a crapshoot---even though could do it cheaper, you may have lost a bearing if they hadn't repacked it. Might be negotiable.J

They didn't charge me at all for the awning so it was covered under warranty. I knew the hubcap wasn't covered, but it is there for asthetics purposes and does nothing for protecting the wheel bearing. There was absolutely no reason to repack the bearing, which implies that they removed the wheel, disassembled the hub and repacked the bearing. I doubt that happened. I think if anything happened at all, it was a regrease of an EZ-Lube axle and not a bearing repack. What do you think?

I don't know if $91.35 would cover a repack. Sounds like $38.85 for some grease, and 1/2 hour labor @ $105/hr to squeeze it in your axle.

It sounds like you owe for the hubcap and possibly the checking of the sensors, but repacking the wheel bearings on EZ-Lube axles, wasn't the unit PDI'd, and didn't you already pay for that? As for the shower and locking handle on the awning, that should be covered by the warranty/dealer.

+1, tell us the name of the dealer! Demand an itemized statement so you have proof of what they are attempting to charge you for.

I agree with all of the above. Go to the mfgr with your complaints. I would be standing toe-to-toe with someone letting them know in no uncertain terms how unhappy I was!! Stand your ground!!

Maybe pay for a hubcap replacement and that`s it! even that would be questionable since you just bought it, it probably wasn`t installed corectly when the dealer installed them. you should be billed for nothing else...period. even the bearing repack that it didn`t need this early, should be covered by warranty if the dealer decided that what the manuf. did wasn`t good enough.

Pay for the service with a credit card (NOT a debit card) to get your trailer back. Then dispute the charge and make them explain to the bank why they are charging you for services not authorized.

I wouldn’t get to excited, until the bill was explained to me… quite frankly since I only have the benefit of one side, I don’t know if there was a misunderstanding or something else…

about 90% of the tank sensors don’t work… it is just the nature of them, I don’t even know why they put them in… any money spent checking them is gone but shouldn‘t be any more than ½ hour unless the tank is enclosed…

The awning is a non-issue, they didn’t charge for that… but have them show you what they did… I wasn’t aware anything needed lubed on them to work myself…

The tub most likely only needed the bead of sealer… you certainly don’t water leaking out of it… level is easy enough to check, but I can’t really picture this being a major problem and would be afraid the cure might be worse than the problem…

The hubcap was as agreed…

The bearing repack is highly questionable, especially when not requested, and if there was a reason they found for it they should have called for authorization or the warranty should have covered it…

Greasing a EZ lube axle should cost no more than ½ hour labor + the grease and still should have been authorized before it was done…

Sounds like you've been "hosed" to me. I'd certainly find a different dealer for any future work. IN MOST states it is required that they get a signed or at least VERBAL authorization for doing any chargable work. Ask to see their authorization and refuse to pay when they can't produce it.

Economic times are tough, everybody needs to make a buck or two. BTW, don't expect Heartland to throw a bucket of money at this, their suffering like everybody else.

Suggestion, be your own handyman.
