How do I change the water filter without getting soaked? The pump is off and no hose connected to the water input.

I always put a baking pan below my filter so once the canister is unscrewed I could tilt it and drain enough water out so I didn't spill it. There was a recess located just below the filter housing and a bread pan fit perfectly there.

Open your "low point drain", if you have one, and a faucet in the RV. That should drain the water out. Otherwise, release pressure on the system by opening a faucet in the RV. Either way, hold a bucket, or other container, under the filter when removing and replacing. And, draping a handtowel over the filter fitting while removing will aim the water downward.
